Why This Exists
ReserveRetirement.org was created in an attempt to make the military's mind-numbing bureaucracy slightly less mind-numbing.
If you've ever tried to figure out your reserve retirement pay, you know the struggle: scattered information across dozens of government websites, confusing regulations, and calculations that seem designed to require a PhD in military personnel administration.
We built this site to give reservists and National Guard members a quick, easy way to estimate their retirement benefits without having to decode DFAS publications or parse Title 10 of the U.S. Code.
In the past knowledge about reserve retirements was tribal—if you were lucky someone who was probably close to retirement in your unit had taken the time to understand it and could pass that knowledge on, but not everyone was that lucky. ReserveRetirement.org aims to change that by making the information accessible to everyone from day one.
🛠️ How This Was Built
ReserveRetirement.org was created using Claude, an AI assistant by Anthropic, through their Claude Code tool. The calculators, styling, and content were developed through an iterative conversation - proving that even complex military retirement calculations can be tackled with the right tools.
